Steve Smith

With a background in education, project and change management, Steve leads one of the only charities in the UK that provides all-age palliative care through two hospices and a range of community-based services. Steve initially joined Havens Hospices as Director of Facilities, focusing on delivering a new £17.5 million adult hospice which opened in March 2020. He was appointed CEO in August 2019, putting colleagues, culture, data and technology at the heart of his strategy to transform a 30+ year old traditional hospice charity into a resilient, innovative and collaborative care provider to give more care to more people. In September 2021, Steve was presented with the 'Rising CEO' award from Third Sector.
