Nicky Read

Nicky has been working in fundraising for 20 years, moving across from the commercial sector to look after new business in the corporate partnership team at Breast Cancer Now. She spent 3 years as Head of Corporate and Special Events at Anthony Nolan, during a period of huge fundraising growth for the charity and then Head of Corporate Partnerships at Marie Curie, seeing income double within three years. For the last five years, she has been working as a Fundraising Consultant, for charities such as Refuge, The London Community Foundation, Battersea, and English Heritage providing fundraising strategy and leadership across high value fundraising teams and leading them to exceed financial targets. Her most recent role was Interim Deputy Director of Fundraising at Dogs Trust, leading a team of 50 high value fundraisers. She lives in Kent with her husband, two teenagers, a cat and an energetic cocker spaniel.
