Laura Sercombe

CEO , Girls Friendly Society GFS

For about 30 years I have worked as part of the third sector in service delivery charities with a focus around challenging injustice. At work and in my personal life I am optimistic, hardworking and brave. I have a great job - as CEO for GFS, a feminist girls' charity. We work with girls across England and Wales in areas where research says they do not have the same life opportunities as their peers – to be proud of who they are. This is because girls tell us they cannot be themselves and this affects their life chances. I had a great start in life but even now, Imposters Syndrome so often gets in the way. I want to work with the team to ensure more girls and young women do not feel this way. In my spare time I enjoy supporting other organisations as a trustee and committee member, time with my family and friends and my adorable spaniels!
