When Women Win: Rebranding to Reflect Bold Impact

Hand in Hand International

In 2023, Hand in Hand International celebrated a major milestone: 10 million jobs created for women in some of the world’s most challenging places. Yet, despite our growing impact and increased funding success, our outdated brand was limiting our potential. Our messaging failed to reflect our effective, evidence-based model, locally-led delivery, and bold commitment to empowering women even in fragile contexts.

To tackle this, we launched a full rebrand in 2024, partnering with agency Skating Panda. Together, we overhauled our visual identity, tone of voice, and website. Crucially, we co-created the brand with input from staff, funders, and frontline trainers, ensuring that our brand was authentic to who we are. Our MEL team helped shape a data-led narrative, while our new strapline -- "When women win, everyone wins" -- boldly reinforced our focus even during rising global opposition to gender equity.

Just six months post-launch, we've secured £818,000 in new grants (including two first-time funders), increased LinkedIn engagement by 86%, and attracted interest from women-led consumer brands. Most importantly, internal confidence soared: 95% of fundraisers now feel empowered to share our story. Hand in Hand’s rebrand has laid the foundation for greater impact -- and we're just getting started.
