The Grand Appeal and Aardman Animations

The partnership between Aardman Animations and The Grand Appeal is one of the UK’s most impactful corporate charity partnerships. Spanning 30 years and raising almost £100 million for Bristol Children’s Hospital, it has made a profound difference to the lives of sick children and families across the South West.

From the beginning, Aardman’s commitment has extended far beyond brand alignment. Nick Park, alongside founders David Sproxton and Peter Lord have been active patrons. Not only have they dedicated their time, but they have contributed their creative leadership and industry influence to encourage support. In turn, this has created a culture of internal advocacy for the charity.

Together, Aardman and The Grand Appeal transform children’s hospital spaces, fund life-saving equipment, provide free family accommodation, invest in research and operate an ongoing programme of art, music and play. What began as a campaign to build a new hospital has grown into a globally admired partnership, dedicated to improving and transforming the lives of sick children and babies.
