The Care Workers' Charity

The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC) was formed in 2009 with the objective of supporting current and former care workers with one-off crisis grants. For Britain's care workers, early starts, low pay and long hours are part and parcel of the job. The work is emotionally and physically demanding, and consequently, there are significant numbers of care workers who battle with complex mental and physical health conditions without getting the support they need. These challenges were further exasperated by the Covid-19 pandemic and the CWC reacted to offer a lifeline to care workers who had seen their income reduced after isolating or shielding to protect those around them. Not only has the CWC supported people affected by Covid-19, the charity now offers mental wellbeing support. We know our support changes lives and enables people to face the future with renewed hope.
