Sleep Support Line

Sleep Scotland

Sleep Scotland assists people with or affected by a family member with additional support needs to thrive through two services; TEENS+ and Sleep Services. Sleep Scotland was established by a parent who, because of their lived experience, wanted to support parents of children with additional needs who were battling the debilitating effects of chronic sleep deprivation.

Twenty four years on and we are now the leading sleep support and training charity in the UK assisting children, young people, parents, and carers. An integral aspect of this is our National Sleep Support Line which has supported 2235 children, young people and families since 2017. This provides emotional support and practical advice where chronic sleep deprivation for a child is having a significant impact on the quality of life for that family. During the pandemic we experienced exponential growth in demand for help from families with increasingly complex needs. We now receive between 60 - 90 new cases per month, compared to 41 pre-pandemic, and for the first time have a waiting list and expect demand to continue at this level for the foreseeable future. This nomination reflects the dedication and adaptability demonstrated by the Sleep Line Team in delivering critical support.
