Sir Jonathan Pryce

This nomination recognises Sir Jonathan Pryce CBE for his exceptional dedication to Alzheimer’s Society as an official Ambassador. Over the past three years, he has consistently used his platform, voice and influence to increase public understanding of dementia and raise awareness of the nearly one million people living with the condition in the UK.

Sir Jonathan’s contributions are wide-ranging and impactful. As Headline Ambassador for our Omaze campaign, he helped generate vital funds for research and enabled more than 2,000 families to access support from our network of expert Dementia Advisers in their homes and communities. His advocacy has also reached senior levels of government. Through his involvement in our POLITICO partnership, and as lead signatory on our open letter calling for an ambitious Modern Service Framework for Dementia and Frailty, he has driven national attention and urgency around a long-neglected issue.

A compelling public advocate, Sir Jonathan has delivered thoughtful interviews across major media outlets, including The Telegraph, Daily Mail and the USA’s Today Show. He championed our Forget Me Not appeal to audiences far beyond our usual reach and has strengthened engagement with key donors and partners through his support at events.

His commitment is deeply personal and reflected in his artistic work. His portrayals of dementia in Slow Horses and The Thursday Murder Club bring dignity and humanity to the condition, fostering greater public understanding.
