Samaritans | Income Department

In a year like no other, Samaritans’ Fundraising Team has worked effectively together to not only achieve but exceed its targets. While the charity’s volunteers were responding to 10,000 calls for help every day, the charity’s fundraising team was working hard to ensure they could keep the lights on. By taking a supporter first approach, they put our cause at their heart and innovation at their core, to ensure that Samaritans could continue to be there 24/7 for people struggling to cope during the pandemic. As a result, Samaritans was not only able to continue to respond to over 2.3 million calls for help during the pandemic, but to develop new fundraising products and initiatives to reach more people and future-proof our critical service. It is thanks to the fundraising team not only meeting, but exceeding, the fundraising target that this was possible. Through all of it, the fundraising team applied Samaritans’ core value of human connection to themselves and their colleagues, working collaboratively and supportively to support one another.
