SallyAnn Kelly OBE

Aberlour Children's Charity

This year Aberlour’s Chief Executive, SallyAnn Kelly was awarded an OBE for services to children and families.

A recognition by peers of her outstanding contribution to improving the lives of Scottish children and families, and for leading Aberlour through exceptional times to deliver the most successful year in the charity’s 148-year history. During 2022/3 SallyAnn’s leadership ensured Aberlour achieved its ‘Being Brave’ Strategy. The cost-of-living crisis demanded Brave responses for families. SallyAnn lived our strategy through: üLeading our most successful fundraising campaign, raising nine times our target, and ensuring 100% donations went to families in poverty. üCalling for the removal of school meal debt for Scottish families resulting in 10 Councils writing it off. üChallenging the Scottish Government to pause public debt collection during the crisis, prompting fifty charities to sign a letter asking for it to be paused. üSecuring funding for Scotland’s first national Mother and Child Substance Use Recovery House. üStrengthening Aberlour by increasing income by 19% and gaining Investors in Diversity. SallyAnn has delivered impact and inspired staff, volunteers and the children and families Aberlour supports by living our core values of Respect, Integrity, Challenge and Innovation in all that she does.
