SAHAN CARES C.I.C

Sahan Cares C.I.C

Sahan Cares is a family-run social enterprise with a unique business model. Its success over eight years is testament to the idea that business acumen can go hand-in-hand with social responsibility. From its roots as a support group for disenfranchised BAME women, the West London company has grown into a multi-faceted business with double-digit annual revenue growth.

Sahan Cares provides in-home care, advice, training, and support to disadvantaged families dealing with poverty, disability, and lack of social integration. Services include specialised personal care for older adults and people with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments. The company delivers these services through a free training programme that helps unemployed women gain professional certification. By building its own team of carers many of whom can draw from personal experience to understand the challenges faced by service users Sahan Cares is providing opportunities to people struggling to find a place in the workforce.

Over 120 jobs have been created and 150 people have been trained all free of charge. Since its founding in 2013, Sahan Cares has delivered more than 500,000 hours of care. Revenues have grown from £30k in year one, to more than £1.5 million last year.
