Rotherham Hospice

Rotherham Hospice is the only adult hospice serving the people of Rotherham. In 2025/26, the Hospice delivered one of the strongest years in its history, receiving its first ever overall Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission while growing services, income, community reach and public support.

The Hospice supported 360 inpatient admissions, completed 12,320 Hospice at Home visits, recorded 38,102 calls, helped avoid 1,363 hospital admissions and 1,428 GP appointments, and achieved exceptional patient and family feedback, with 97.1% rating their overall experience as Excellent or Very Good.

Total income grew to £9.56m, public reach increased to 23.5m, volunteers gave more than 52,328 hours, and staff satisfaction rose from 71% to 85%. Rotherham Hospice proved that a medium-sized charity can be clinically outstanding, financially ambitious, deeply human and rooted in community.
