Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and support for children with some of the most serious and complex health conditions in the UK. The heroic children they support often have multiple health conditions, which require lifelong specialist care.

Over the past 12 months, Roald Dahl Nurses co-ordinated the care of over 32,000 children with a serious health condition. This represented the highest annual figure in the charity’s history and translated to over a quarter of million hours of clinical and emotional support for children and their families, resulting in record levels of impact. The effectiveness of the charity’s model is increasingly being recognised as best practice across the NHS. In 2023, this included being ‘strong recommended’ by academics in the highly-respected Journal of Paediatric Nursing. The charity has also demonstrated a commitment towards nurse-led innovation, including the introduction of an interactive game for children with sickle cell disease.
