Ripple Suicide Prevention

Ripple Suicide Prevention

In November 2020 I lost my only son Josh to Suicide. He was just 21 years old. When we looked at his search history on his phone and his laptop, we were horrified to find that he had been searching sites on line for harmful material giving him tips and encouragement on how to take his own life. It was on Christmas Day 2020 when my daughter Alice came invented a piece of technology called Ripple. It is a browser extension that can be easily downloaded onto laptops and computers. If an individual then searches for harmful material relating to self harm or suicide, they will be interrupted and will be presented with a short breathing exercise which will allow them to reboot before directing them to one of the many mental health resources that can give them the help and hope that they deserve.
