Richard Franklin

Kisharon Langdon

Richard Franklin’s leadership has transformed Kisharon Langdon into a single, sustainable organisation capable of supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people seamlessly throughout their lives, addressing a long standing gap within the Jewish community. Joining Kisharon in 2013, appointed Chief Executive in 2018, and becoming Group Chief Executive of the merged Kisharon Langdon in 2023, Richard has delivered a clear, long term vision with exceptional results.

Over the past year, Richard led the UK’s second largest non profit merger, creating a £25m organisation while delivering £2m in efficiencies and over £1m in cost savings in the last year alone. The impact has been profound. As Co Chair Philip Goldberg states: “The merger would never have happened without Richard. The impact of the merger on the Jewish Community is unparalleled.”

Quality and sustainability have improved in parallel. Education and supported living services achieved Outstanding ratings, including the turnaround of a previously underperforming provision. Financial performance is equally strong, with voluntary income up 30%, statutory funding up 19%, and £4.6m raised in the past year, a record result. These outcomes are underpinned by audited financials, regulatory inspection outcomes, staff surveys, and independent culture assessments.

Richard rebuilt senior leadership structures, halving directorate size while increasing capability, and delivered 10 of 12 post merger objectives, embedding strong governance and accountability. His highly visible, accessible leadership has strengthened trust, engagement, and psychological safety, demonstrating values led leadership with measurable, lasting impact.
