The Children's Hospital Charity

2020 saw The Children’s Hospital Charity undertake one its biggest social media campaigns to-date with huge success. Following a shortlisting on the Persimmon Homes Building Futures campaign, the Charity created an entire social media strategy to focus on winning £100,000 worth of funding towards its Cancer & Leukaemia Ward capital appeal. The campaign subsequently engaged with record numbers of supporters, both old and new, across a variety of social media channels. Supporters were encouraged to ‘make a difference’ which was particularly important during a year of pandemic restrictions where so many supporters felt unable to help via usual methods. Our campaign was able to showcase ‘life on a cancer ward’ like never before with patients, families and ward staff backing the campaign from start to finish and creating their own content for social channels. Such was the power of the ‘drive’ on social media that the Charity saw the highest numbers on record of engagement & secured hundreds of thousands of votes. The campaign highlight was ‘winning’ and being awarded the £100,000 prize funding.
