Money Ready

Owen was sofa surfing before finding shelter in a hostel. Then a housing officer pointed him to a Money Ready programme, where he learnt how to budget, the difference between debit and credit, and practical ways to manage rent and bills. None of it had ever been explained to him before.

He is just one of the 58,867 people Money Ready supported last year with financial education programmes that make money make sense for those who need it most.

Founded in 2005, Money Ready has grown to a £4 million charity employing 73 people across all four UK nations, working to equip people like Owen with the skills and knowledge to take control of their financial futures.

We have experienced a year of genuine transformation. During the first year of our new strategy, Money: A Language for Life, Money Ready simultaneously celebrated 20 years of impact, launched a major rebrand, embarked on a significant merger, secured record fundraising, delivered sessions for nearly 59,000 learners and became a national voice in financial education policy. Each of those things alone would mark a good year. Together, they mark an exceptional one.
