Melissa Charlton

Melissa Charlton joined Ambient as a Deputy Manager in Mental Health Services in 2018. In 2019 Melissa combined her role of Deputy Manager with that of Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistant. This was a new combination of role and skills for Ambient and something that Melissa influenced the shape and growth of. She skilfully combined her operational and clinical experience to deliver best practice approaches and facilitate evidenced based interventions, achieving positive outcomes for the people we support.

Melissa’s work has had a great impact on a wide range of services from Residential and Supported Living through to Domiciliary support in the community. She has championed Ambient’s values and mission to deliver ‘personalised support that enables individuals to lead valued and meaningful lives in the community’. Her kindness, commitment, motivation and passion has shone through and been an inspiration to others. Melissa has seized all opportunities to further her professional career and personal development. In 2021 Melissa completed her Level 7 OT Diploma. She is now an OT Technician, championing our OT career pathway. She has moved from her operational role to sharing her skills and best practice across a number of services, having a wider impact across the whole charity.
