Maggie's and Howden

Howden and Maggie’s 2-year partnership began in 2024 with the aim to deliver long term impact for the increasing number of people affected by cancer. The partnership recognised the organisations shared belief that everyone should have access to emotional and practical support whilst impacted by a cancer diagnosis.

Maggie’s is a leading national charity offering free practical, psychological, and social support to people living with cancer and their friend’s family at welcoming centres alongside NHS hospitals and online - no appointment or referral is needed.

Howden is a global insurance group built on employee ownership and a people first culture. At Howden, a key element of their Social Impact sustainability strategy focuses on empowering people and creating community impact, using insurance as a force for good.

By leveraging Howden’s extensive UK branch network and professional expertise the partnership has surpassed it’s initial fundraising target of £500,000 raising £650,000 to fund vital psychological and financial support across the UK.

Beyond fundraising the partnership has focussed on strategic support, with over 250 customer facing colleagues joining Maggie’s Vulnerable Customer training to support better conversations with Howden customers and signposting for clients and colleagues facing cancer.
