Louise Parkes

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSH charity)

Louise joined GOSH Charity as Chief Executive in 2019 – at a time of fluctuating levels of income, when we were facing a downward trend in our supporter base and less than a year before the pandemic hit.

In spite of these challenges Louise led the development of a new strategy focused on delivering impact, growing income and building partnerships. Over the last four years Louise has led the charity with courage, care and curiosity - our new organisational values - and overseen: -The charity’s work with the Hospital to develop plans for a new £300m Children’s Cancer Centre -A plan to significantly uplift investment in groundbreaking research -Our first EDI strategy which has led to increased diversity -The review of pay, reward and L&D for our staff -An ambitious fundraising strategy -The launch of the biggest appeal in our history 2022/23 was our most successful year ever in terms of income, hitting £107m, and our staff survey was so positive that we were named in the 2023 Sunday Times Best Places to Work for. In addition, Louise ran the 2023 London Marathon as part of our Charity of the Year team, raising £24k personally.
