Locate International
Founded in 2019, Locate International is the only UK charity dedicated specifically to providing direct investigative support in long-term missing persons and unidentified remains cases. Entirely volunteer-led, with no salaried staff or guaranteed funding, the charity supports families, police forces and coroners by providing specialist investigative expertise, research capability and public engagement across some of the most complex unresolved cases in the UK and internationally.
The charity operates through ten multidisciplinary investigation teams supported by specialist functions including Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), online investigations, media, family liaison and international partnerships. In 2025 alone, volunteers contributed more than 14,000 hours of support, equivalent to approximately 1,877 days of volunteering, demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to public service, compassion and investigative excellence.
In 2025, Locate International secured a landmark Data Processing Contract with the National Police Chiefs’Council (NPCC), enabling every police force in England and Wales to securely access the charity’s services and share cases directly with it.
Through compassion, collaboration and innovation, Locate International is strengthening investigative practice, supporting families in crisis and ensuring unresolved cases are never lost to time, all at no cost to families or the public purse.
