Lifelites 25
Lifelites
For 25 years, Lifelites has delivered specialist technology through children’s hospices. However, the majority of the UK’s 100,000 children with life-limiting conditions do not access hospice support, leaving them without access to Lifelites life-changing services due to systemic gaps in provision.
Lifelites 25 breaks this barrier. It introduces a new, open and scalable delivery model, extending support into specialist schools, NHS services and community organisations. Through a national application and selection process, seven diverse partners were equipped with bespoke technology, training and ongoing support thus unlocking new ways to deliver care, therapies, education and connection.
The impact has been immediate and tangible. In year one, the programme reached over 1,100 additional children, delivering consistent improvements across five key wellbeing outcomes: communication, independence, emotional wellbeing, social connection and family resilience. Partners report transformative change, from non-verbal children forming friendships through eye-gaze technology to children with cancer maintaining their education via telepresence tools.
Crucially, Lifelites 25 is not just an expansion, it is a new collaborative model for the sector and gives Lifelites an incredible platform to develop beyond hospices with unique insights. It demonstrates how assistive technology can be embedded across fragmented systems in a scalable, sustainable way.
The programme has also driven significant growth in awareness and income, with a 817% increase in website traffic, 5,000+ public votes and a 31% uplift in fundraising.
Lifelites 25 sets a new benchmark for inclusive, technology-enabled care.
