Migrant Help
Migrant Help’s film ‘Leaving’, produced in partnership with 23red, draws on the experiences of refugees and people seeking asylum of having to leave their lives behind at a moment’s notice. The film, shot in first person perspective, offers the viewers a unique opportunity to share a fragment of experience of people affected by displacement due to war or conflict.
The film’s intense visuals are accompanied by the audio of an original, newly commissioned poem by the British Somali poet and former London Young Poet Laureate, Momtaza Mehri, beautifully narrated by Bridgerton star, Adjoa Andoh.
The film aims to raise awareness of the impossible challenges faced by refugees and invites audiences to reflect on the people behind statistics and negative narratives so prevalent in our media, to challenge stereotypes and start positive conversations about the benefits that diverse communities bring to our country.
