Jo Kerr

Verture

Since becoming CEO of Verture in December 2024, Jo Kerr has led a period of rapid and transformative change, repositioning the charity organisation and strengthening its influence at a critical moment for climate resilience in the UK.

Within her first year, Jo led the transition from Sniffer to Verture, clarifying its identity as the UK’s only charity focused on climate adaptation and resilience. This has increased the organisation’s visibility and engagement, including a 64% growth in LinkedIn following and stronger relationships with policymakers and sector leaders.

Jo’s most significant achievement has been the development of Verture’s five-year strategy, Just Resilience (2026–2031). Through a pioneering co-creation process involving over 100 stakeholders, she embedded equity and lived experience into decision-making, creating a strategy with strong external ownership and cross-sector relevance. The strategy positions climate resilience as inseparable from social justice and is already influencing collaboration across sectors.

Alongside this, Jo has strengthened governance by expanding Board capacity, restructured the organisation to improve delivery and accountability, and secured Verture’s first corporate partnership with 3M, increasing financial resilience.

She has also expanded Verture’s national influence, including engagement with senior government stakeholders and contributing to growing recognition of climate resilience within bodies such as the Just Transition Commission.

Jo’s leadership combines strategic clarity, innovation and a collaborative, values-driven approach, positioning Verture as a confident and influential organisation driving forward a more just and climate-resilient future.
