Jay Flynn

Jay Flynn went viral at the start of the pandemic by running weekly fundraising virtual pub quizzes - keeping people together during the height of lockdown. At the peak he was delivering his quizzes to over 700,000 people! He raised over £1million for various causes, including £70,000 for The Connection at St Martin’s.

Since then Jay has continued to run weekly quizzes for thousands of people whilst choosing to fundraise for The Connection. He completed the London Marathon for us in 2021, despite injuring himself mid-way, posting live updates to followers throughout. This year he has raised over £20,000 for The Connection. He is also a Guinness World Record holder for most viewers of a quiz YouTube live-stream and received an MBE in 2021 for his fundraising. The Connection is a cause close to Jay’s heart as he credits us for helping him rebuild his life after he slept rough on London’s streets. Jay is now our first Ambassador, and has signed up for the 2022 London Marathon. Jay is passionate about raising awareness and funds for homelessness by sharing his inspiring story to increase understanding of the issue.
