James Nunn

Cats Protection

For more than eight years, James Nunn has made a transformative regional impact within Cats Protection, strengthening how the charity supports both cats and communities across the North East. His contribution is defined by the meaningful change he has created through them. James brings stability, confidence, and long‑term resilience to multiple branches, ensuring they can focus more energy on frontline welfare rather than operational strain. His calm, reliable presence has helped branches navigate challenges, grow stronger, and work more effectively together.

James’s most significant achievement is the innovative partnership he forged between Cats Protection and the RSPCA Sheffield site. By recognising an opportunity in an unused wing of RSPCA pens, he initiated a model of collaboration that has doubled local rehoming capacity, enabling more than 130 cats to receive care and find homes. This partnership now stands as a blueprint for cross‑sector cooperation, showing how charities can achieve far greater impact when they work in unity rather than isolation.

Across regional committees and strategic groups, James influences decisions that shape how Cats Protection delivers support to people and animals. His quiet advocacy for fairness and accessibility ensures communities of all backgrounds can receive help. James’s leadership, compassion, and vision leave a legacy felt well beyond any single branch.
