When COVID 19 hit many charities were forced to halt or scale back their activities and ask for govt help. Beauty Banks could have been one of these. Instead, when its core activities of delivering personal care packages to the poor and needy were impacted, its founders re-focused on the possible and launched a crowd funder and a campaign called #HelpingHands and were able to not only continue their activities, but extend them to NHS frontline workers all across the UK. It's been a hugely successful campaign - it has raised over £110,000 in cash donations to date, plus over a million pounds in value of products donated from some of the best loved beauty brands. The campaign has been embraced by the British beauty industry and media - and saw the founders hailed as Heroes of the Beauty World by Vogue Magazine.
