Fulham Reach Boat Club

Fulham Reach Boat Club (FRBC) is a London-based sport-for-good charity using rowing to tackle inequality, improve wellbeing, reduce reoffending, increase disability inclusion, and protect the River.

In 2024/25, FRBC engaged nearly 2,000 participants across youth development, prison rehabilitation, accessible rowing, and environmental action programmes. We supported 826 young people from 10 state schools, delivered 579 rowing sessions, and provided 85 young people from low-income families with free holiday sport through our Free Watersport Weeks. Across youth programmes, physical activity levels increased by 39.8%, while over 83% reported improved confidence, wellbeing, teamwork and connection to nature.

Through Boats Not Bars, FRBC supported 184 prison participants across multiple prisons, with 41 participants maintaining contact post-programme, a 141% increase on last year, helping reduce isolation and create pathways into employment and community sport.[AW3.1]

Our new accessible rowing programme supported blind, visually impaired and disabled participants, with 100% reporting improved health and social connection. For 2025/26 we are working with 30 disabled people offering rowing and environmental activities, we aim to support 50 disabled people this summer.

Meanwhile, over 400 volunteers helped remove over 1 tonnes of waste from the Thames, proving that sport can drive environmental change too.

FRBC is redefining what a sports charity can achieve.
