Fulham Reach Boat Club

Fulham Reach Boat Club (FRBC) is a sport-for-good charity creating life-changing opportunities on the River Thames for disadvantaged communities, prison residents, and people with disabilities. In 2023–24, FRBC reached more than 2,000 participants across its transformative programmes, using rowing as a tool for physical, mental, and societal well-being.

FRBC’s inclusive youth development initiatives engaged over 1,300 young people—up 27% from the previous year—with 78% identifying as female and 77% from minority backgrounds. Milestones included The Youth Boat Race with over 60 students televised on the BBC, and five FRBC junior athletes becoming coaches—testament to the club’s long-term developmental impact.

Our Boats Not Bars initiative supported 141 prison residents across seven prisons, with 30 earning coaching qualifications and 17 continuing engagement post-release. New accessible rowing initiatives for disabled athletes and impactful environmental action, including river cleanups and electric boat adoption, demonstrate our wide-ranging commitment to community transformation.

CEO Adam Freeman-Pask notes: “In our 10th anniversary year, we've deepened our impact across health, inclusion, and sustainability, all while achieving financial stability. I’m proud of how our staff and volunteers set a powerful example of how sport can drive positive societal change.”
