Forthglade Natural Dog Food and Veterans With Dogs

For more than eight years, Forthglade Natural Pet Food has been an extraordinary corporate partner to Veterans With Dogs, supporting Armed Forces veterans living with complex mental health challenges through highly trained assistance dog partnerships.

As fellow Devon-based organisations, the partnership was built on shared values around wellbeing, community, and social impact. Forthglade provides all puppy food and treats for our dogs during their crucial 12–18 month socialisation phase, ensuring they receive the highest quality nutrition and the very best start to their assistance dog journey. This long-term commitment saves the charity approximately £24,000 annually (over £190,000 over the lifetime of the partnership to date), enabling more funding to be directed towards supporting veterans and their families.

Beyond nutritional support, Forthglade has sponsored three puppies (Devon, Buddy, and Elmo), supported fundraising events, amplified our work through social media, commissioned bespoke branded dog caricatures, created a short partnership video, and even created a special recipe co-branded dog food product to raise awareness, engagement, and income.

The partnership reflects Forthglade’s values as a certified B Corp company and demonstrates how a business can create truly meaningful social impact through sustained, values-led collaboration.

Together, the partnership has helped raise awareness nationally of the life-changing impact assistance dogs can have for veterans experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and isolation, while directly helping future assistance dogs thrive from the very beginning of their training journey.
