FAITH: Family Assistance & Intervention for Trauma Healing

PTSD Resolution

FAITH (Family Assistance & Intervention for Trauma Healing) represents a pioneering shift in military mental health policy, recognising that trauma affects entire households, not just veterans. This groundbreaking initiative provides free, immediate access to trauma therapy for military families through a UK-wide network of 200 qualified therapists, requiring no GP referral or diagnosis - removing critical barriers to care.

Unlike traditional approaches that treat veterans in isolation, FAITH addresses the whole family system affected by military trauma. The programme has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness, with 68% of family members achieving reliable improvement and a 61% recovery rate - a significant increase from 44% the previous year.

With 17% of PTSD Resolution's clients now being family members (65% partners/spouses, 32% children, 3% other relatives), FAITH fills a critical gap in veteran support policy. By healing entire family units, it prevents intergenerational trauma and reduces wider societal costs of relationship breakdown, unemployment, and healthcare utilisation. FAITH establishes a new standard for military family support services, demonstrating that effective trauma care must extend beyond the individual veteran.
