A restructure, which brought Marketing, Supporter Engagement and Development teams together under one Directorship, created the right environment for a more innovative approach. The first and most important innovation was scrapping income targets for all staff and rebranding as the Engagement Team. We remain proud fundraisers, but collectively agree the levers we can pull to generate income all revolve around giving supporters and potential supporters a brilliant experience and a reason to support us for life. The result was a very significant increase in income (an 11% leap to £9.2 million). More importantly, we created a happy, collaborative and ambitious team who see opportunities at every turn and are creating a 30+ year pipeline of happy and engaged supporters.
