The Elephant Group and Newton Impact

The Elephant Group is a headteacher-led charity established in 2018 to harness the power of collaboration between school leaders, the education sector, and industry and charity partners to improve access to higher education and support social justice across the UK by providing non-selective state school students with resources, information and exposure to opportunities that are taken for granted by privileged students.

For charities like The Elephant Group to thrive, they need strong partnerships with organisations that are committed to their cause and are willing to offer financial and non-financial support. The Newton Foundation, part of Newton Impact, has supported TEG since its inception in 2018. Together we have grown from 8 schools in London and Northampton with 2 partner Universities supporting 130 Yr12 students, to this year 67 schools across London, East Midlands and Yorkshire and over 3,400 students in 2024/25. This partnership is mutually beneficial to both organisations, supporting TEG to flourish and providing Newton personnel the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of the young people with whom we work. The partnership’s core value lies in working collaboratively with experts to deliver what is right for underrepresented students.
