Age UK and Cadbury
Donate Your Words: The Originals was a social action campaign which built on the success of Age UK and Cadbury’s 2019 Donate Your Words campaign whilst raising vital funds for the charity. At the start of the pandemic, it was clear that older people were being adversely affected by the virus; so, Age UK and Cadbury came together once more to relaunch our Donate your Words campaign - using the power of our combined voices to celebrate and support older people at this scary and uncertain time. With the launch of the film ‘The Originals’ we showcased the unexpected stories of our older generation, encouraging the public to talk to older people in their communities to discover their stories too. We also encouraged people to share stories of the older people in their lives. As well as getting the nation talking, Cadbury created six special-edition Dairy Milk bars featuring quotes from the older people in the film. Each bar raised money to help keep Age UKs vital services open. With 10 million bars sold and more than 14,000 stories shared, together we were able to celebrate the lives of older people and raise vital funds for Age UK.
