Digit
may be small, but our impact is anything but. Founded in 2022 with just two permanent staff and three freelancers, this UK charity has already reached nearly 600,000 learners in 59 countries, bridging the digital divide for those most often left out: girls, minoritised groups, and young people from low-income backgrounds.
Our secret? A bold, strategic approach that links coding with climate action. From coding wildlife monitors to building early warning systems, Digit empowers 7–14-year-olds to shape their futures and the planet’s. Everything we offer is free, accessible, and designed to work in low-resource settings. With recorded CPD, hands-on teacher training, and local delivery networks, we build infrastructure – not dependency.
In the last year alone, we’ve reached over 300,000 students and 6,500 teachers. 30% more students now see tech as part of the climate solution. Our teacher networks are growing. Our volunteer team is thriving. And our influence is spreading; we've recently been appointed the UK lead for EU Code Week.
This is digital education, reimagined: inclusive, empowering, climate-focused, and built to last. Digit proves that big achievement doesn’t need a big budget – just a clear mission, sharp strategy, and belief in what young people do.
