In 2025, Barley delivered communications campaigns and strategic consultancy for 30 organisations, with 100% client retention and 81% of new business generated through existing clients and referrals.

Barley combines strategic advice with campaign delivery, helping organisations move beyond awareness to education, behaviour change and informed public and policy debate.

A flagship campaign was Deep Decline: the environmental impact of overfishing, delivered in partnership with Oceana UK to support the launch of a major scientific report and raise awareness of one of the most significant threats to ocean ecosystems.

The campaign addressed low public understanding of overfishing, translating complex fisheries science into clear, evidence-based messages for journalists, policymakers and the public. A coordinated programme of media engagement, expert commentary and strategic communications ensured these messages reached key audiences.

It generated 267 pieces of coverage reaching 647 million people and contributed to government engagement and early signs of action from retailers and industry.
