David Black

The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety

David Black is a volunteer with The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety who has gone above and beyond our expectations of him during the Covid-19 lockdown. David, who also volunteers as a cook at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre, decided to produce short Bitesize Fitness videos designed to keep people who are sensory impaired, elderly, disabled or self-isolating active during lockdown. Initially, the plan was to produce only half dozen videos but David's commitment saw him, with help from our colleagues at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre, produce 42 Bitesize Fitness videos to date. His videos have been viewed over 12,500 times in many countries throughout the world including USA, Brazil and South Africa. Amazingly, David has done this despite being deafblind. He is a true inspiration to not just the sensory impaired community but ALL volunteers across the World.
