Cycling Without Age England Trustee Board

Cycling Without Age England

Cycling Without Age England's volunteer trustee board has delivered transformational impact over the past year. This entirely volunteer-led team increased the charity's income from £1,400 to £19,000 in 1 single year - a growth of 1250% – enabling the launch of a new chapter in Blackpool, England's topmost multiply deprived areas. We supported a network of 223 volunteers running 40 chapters across UK, who delivered free trishaw rides to more than 8,000 people facing physical impairments in 2025.

Trustee Des Locherie led the organisation of the first ever fully funded National Conference of CWA England, bringing together 45 volunteer leaders from 16 chapters across England and Wales. To support attendance at the conference, 6 local families in Dorchester generously hosted around 15 volunteer leaders, chapter leaders and trustees in their homes for free, demonstrating remarkable community solidarity.

Digital Trustee Hannah Wallwork designed and implemented the charity's 1st ever monitoring, evaluation and learning systems, enabling robust impact measurement.

This provided the evidence base for Chairperson and Fundraising Trustee Ramika Prajapati to secure £19,000 in grants and donations, directly funding the Blackpool expansion, our National Conference and our IT infrastructure and a new national booking system to bring all chapters together on it. Treasurer Kiran Audit strengthened financial controls and governance while supporting community development. Guy Collins led community engagement initiatives and established a research partnership with the University of Derby to understand the impact of trishaw rides on volunteer pilots. Together we aced it!!
