Communities In Sync

Communities In Sync

Communities In Sync (CIS) is a formal partnership of over 20 trusted, grass-roots voluntary and community organisations across the West Midlands, with a particular focus on boroughs which are amongst the most deprived in the country (e.g. Sandwell). Our purpose is to reduce health inequalities by co-designing solutions, securing funding and managing high-quality health, social care and wellbeing services that are delivered by charities people know and trust, especially for residents who face barriers to statutory provision. We pride ourselves on our ability to harness the collective strengths and assets of multiple charitable organisations, creating innovative services which meet the needs of our diverse population in a pragmatic manner, with clear and tangible outcomes.

Our impact is evidenced through large-scale partnership programmes, which includes projects related to the wider determinants of health and clinically aligned mental health services such as Talking Therapies Plus, helping thousands of local residents access timely, culturally responsive support, improve wellbeing and reduce escalation to crisis services. CIS is uniquely positioned as a single lead provider for multi-partner delivery as we provide one point of contracting, governance and accountability while enabling specialist partners to focus on front-line support. We mobilise quickly, agree clear service level expectations, coordinate referrals and wraparound pathways, and use shared systems for quality assurance, safeguarding, performance monitoring and outcomes reporting. This model joins up local expertise into one coherent offer which is holistic, flexible, cost-effective and designed around the real needs of our diverse local population.
