Career Advice direct to beneficiaries

Working Options in Education

Working Options in Education is helping young people across England and Wales build the skills, knowledge and access the opportunities they need to shape their own career journeys. In 2024, we launched a social-first digital project to scale our impact and respond directly to what young people told us they wanted: careers content that’s relevant, snappy, and actually where they scroll – not hidden away on websites or behind webinars.

We listened. Led by our Chief Executive and Head of Marketing, we hired a dedicated content creator to turn our in-person insights into powerful short-form videos that bring work and opportunity to life. By co-creating content with young people and industry volunteers, we’re reaching more diverse audiences, faster, and with messages that stick.

While we still deliver in-person workshops and talks, the digital strand is crucial to scale equitably and shift mindsets at pace. The results have exceeded all expectations: over 9 million video views, 2.2 million young people reached, and a new way of working that includes paid interns and employer partners upskilling alongside us. For a charity with a small team and big ambitions, this project is a game-changer.
