Calan DVS
The organisation delivers holistic support through a range of specialist programmes, including the Lotus Project for sexual violence recovery, the Myriad Programme for LGBTQ+ survivors, the Compass Programme for male victims, and Reclaim You for women. Calan was also the first UK organisation to achieve RESPECT accreditation for male victim services, reflecting its commitment to equality and excellence.
In the past year, Calan has expanded key services, including the launch of the S.T.A.R. Centre in Neath, a dedicated sexual trauma recovery facility co-developed with survivors. It has also addressed gaps in provision by opening the first male refuge in Neath Port Talbot and launching a mother and baby refuge in Powys, alongside specialist accommodation for older victims.
Calan continues to play a leadership role nationally, delivering the Dal I Godi IDVA service and contributing to prevention through perpetrator programmes and the IRIS+ Trial. Its new social enterprise, B.R.I.G.H.T Options, supports long-term sustainability while raising awareness.
Supporting over 700 individuals, 1,400 children and delivering thousands of interventions, Calan’s impact is both measurable and transformative. Through innovation, collaboration and survivor-centred practice, Calan continues to change lives and strengthen communities across Wales.
