Bruce Warner

Bruce Warner has provided calm, generous and quietly exceptional leadership as Chair of Trustees during a defining period for Rotherham Hospice. He became a trustee in December 2021 and Chair in October 2023. Since then, he has supported the Chief Executive through regular fortnightly catch-ups, offering challenge, encouragement and wise counsel while respecting the boundary between governance and operations.

In 2025/26, the Hospice achieved its first ever overall Outstanding CQC rating, grew income to £9.56m, managed expenditure of £10.19m, invested £822k in capital improvements, increased public reach to 23.5m and delivered care with 97.1% of people rating their overall experience as Excellent or Very Good.

Bruce supported the Hospice’s first independent governance review, backed significant governance restructuring, and helped the Board reach a place of demonstrably strong governance recognised through CQC inspection. He is present, approachable, challenging and deeply committed.
