BRITISH RED CROSS

For 150 years we have been providing support to those who need it most, whoever and wherever they are. Wherever we work, we focus on how we can make the biggest difference in disasters and emergencies, displacement, migration and health inequalities.

Our 17,000 volunteers and nearly 4,000 staff respond to a crisis in the UK every four hours. In the last year we've met urgent humanitarian needs in over 40 other countries too. All over the world we create services to support people and communities most at risk in a crisis. At the lowest point in people's lives in the UK, not least during the coronavirus pandemic, we have been there to offer both practical and emotional support.

We help strengthen communities so they are more resilient. We teach people first aid, giving them the power to save a life too. 2019 to 2020 was always going to be a challenging and special year as we got ready to mark a big birthday - 150 years of helping people in crisis. And then the global health pandemic Covid-19 hit.
