Break The Cycle

Film and TV Charity

There is a mental health crisis in the film, TV, and cinema industry - and the Film and TV Charity's most recent research shows that it's getting worse. Bad working conditions and culture, and the industry's ability to support its workers are contributing to shocking statistics, with one third of behind the scenes workers taking active steps to leave the industry due to the impact it has on their wellbeing.

The Film and TV Charity provides people working in the industry with in-the-moment support with their mental health and financial wellbeing. It is also working with the industry to affect culture change from the top down. But with more than 50% of the workforce being freelance, in order to raise awareness of our work we knew we had to find a way to cut through with a shareable, engaging message that spoke to a highly creative audience. Break The Cycle, a daring, one-shot piece did just that, providing an arresting view of the industry at its worse, and the vital lifeline the Charity is able to provide. The results since launch have been incredible and have set us up for a next, exciting phase of our work.
