In 2019, blood cancer charity Bloodwise embarked on an insight-led, evidence-based rebrand project to better communicate our mission, so that we could reach and support more people affected by blood cancer. This was not a decision that was taken lightly, having only rebranded from Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to Bloodwise four years prior. Engaging our audiences (patients, researchers, supporters, healthcare professionals and staff) in the process was key, ensuring their experience and knowledge could shape a brand that was true to the charity and meet its objectives. The result is a brand that truly comes from within, one that has been shaped by the community of people it is there to represent and support. Launched during a pandemic, the brand has been truly transformational, exceeding all expectations and helping us to significantly increase our reach and engagement over the last twelve months. As a result, we have been able to help more people with blood cancer, who are some of the most vulnerable to Covid-19, through more than a year of shielding.
