Bigger, Brighter, Bolder: A Refreshed AfriKids
AfriKids
AfriKids is a proudly African-led child rights organisation working in northern Ghana, where locally designed and delivered projects help hundreds of thousands of children stay safe, in school, and learning. As we marked our 20th anniversary, we reflected with partners and communities on our impact and future ambitions. We realised our brand no longer captured who we are or the transformative power of our approach. In August 2024, we launched a bold new brand identity that better reflects the vibrancy of the rural African communities at the heart of our work. Developed with agency Spencer du Bois, the rebrand involved wide consultation with staff, community members, and local leaders in Ghana and the UK. It includes meaningful African symbols—such as circles representing equality and the reimagined Nsoromma star—grounding the identity in trust, heritage, and community power. Our new strapline, ‘Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow’, clarifies our vision of community-led education and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to shape their future. The refresh increased digital engagement and fundraising, strengthened supporter connections (especially Ghanaian diaspora), and gave staff a framework for consistent, authentic storytelling. More than a visual change, our brand evolution reflects a strategic shift to scale our impact.
