Ar Trac Team

Calan DVS

The Ar Trac Team at Calan DVS is a specialist frontline team comprising Katie, Gareth, Cheryl, Rebeka, Sara, Jade, Jorden, Grace and Emily. Together, they deliver structured, trauma-informed support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse and violence.

Their objective is to provide safe, age-appropriate interventions that help children understand their experiences, process trauma and rebuild their lives with resilience and confidence. Many of the children they support internalise fear, guilt and shame, often believing the abuse was their fault. Through therapeutic programmes and structured conversations, the team helps children name abuse, recognise it as unacceptable and separate responsibility from themselves.

In 2025 alone, the Ar Trac Team delivered dedicated support to 1,506 children and young people. Their interventions result in stronger emotional literacy, improved emotional regulation, increased safety awareness, reduced anxiety and greater self-esteem. Families benefit from strengthened communication and healthier boundaries, supporting long-term recovery and stability.

The team’s work plays a vital role in reducing the risk of intergenerational abuse by helping children understand healthy relationships and build resilience for the future. They advocate strongly for the voice of the child within multi-agency settings, ensuring safeguarding and child-centred practice remain paramount.

Combining professionalism, compassion and unwavering commitment, the Ar Trac Team consistently transforms lives. They do not simply support children to survive domestic abuse—they empower them to thrive beyond it.
