Amie Corry

Hospital Rooms

Amie Corry has been the chair of Hospital Rooms for the last 4 years.

Hospital Rooms is a UK charity that works with artists and mental health patients to transform cold, clinical and inhumane wards into places that offer hope, beauty and joy.

In the 4 years of being the chair of the Hospital Rooms board, Amie has shaped how we think about leadership, care, and creativity, supporting the co-founders and team, and keeping the charity focussed on its mission - to improve the lives of NHS patients and staff through creative opportunities, and access to extraordinary art.

The charity had it’s most difficult moment in 2023, when the co-founders’ 3 year old son was diagnosed with leukaemia. It was the most difficult time in their lives, and also meant that Niamh and Tim would need several months away from running the charity, and then more than 2 years of unsettled work as they cared for their son.

Amie Corry was the person Niamh and Tim spoke to almost daily, often from Giraffe Ward at Great Ormond Street Hospital, to make sure the charity would remain secure and the team could continue their amazing and important work.

Amie’s leadership safeguarded our projects, and kept the organisation stable and compassionate through disruption and uncertainty. Amie has built an enviable and diverse board of trustees and through all the challenges, during Amie’s time as chair Hospital Rooms has doubled in size, increased its international influence, and is reaching more people than ever.
