Ambition and Hope in Rural Ghana

Action Through Enterprise

This has been a year of firsts, a year of success against a challenging backdrop - a year of punching above our weight.

We are a dynamic charity operating in the poorest part of Ghana, where people are hungry for change. Tackling poverty and creating opportunities through education, enterprise and inclusion, we work hand-in-hand with ultra rural communities to make a real difference.

Our approach is local, holistic and long term, creating small changes that grow into waves of transformation.

In the last year we’ve: • doubled our reach, expanding to a new district for the first time; • switched on the internet for a generation of children; • hit the milestone of getting 100 disabled children into school; • grown our local team, with 48 people now employed; • been heard in the corridors of power.

It began in 2012, supporting one school, a few small businesses, some families with disabled children. It felt huge at the time, and it was. Since then, we've become more professional, honed a unique model that’s a blueprint for community-focused international development and grown in every way. We have touched the lives of over 21,000 people – by 2028, it will be 50,000.
