All Together, Better

Centrepoint and Coventry Building Society,

In April 2023, Coventry Building Society (CBS) launched a three-year, multi‑million‑pound strategic partnership with Centrepoint and St Basils to help end youth homelessness. Rooted in a shared belief that every young person deserves a safe place to call home, the partnership brought together Centrepoint’s national reach, St Basils’ local expertise in Coventry, and CBS’s financial influence.

The partnership set out to support 5,000 young people on their journey to independence by April 2026, while pioneering replicable local models capable of driving lasting national change. It focused on crisis response, prevention, education and employment, and accessible local support, alongside raising awareness and mobilising advocates among CBS colleagues, members and the wider public.

Backed by £1 million per year in funding, dedicated internal teams, shared governance, and senior leadership advocacy, the partnership has significantly exceeded expectations. To date, over £4.5 million has been raised (50% above target), including a £2 million one-off donation to create genuinely affordable homes. This funding enabled direct support for 10,515 young people, more than double the original target.

Alongside transformational support, the partnership has contributed to significant policy change, increased awareness, and widespread employee engagement – tangibly contributing to the mission to end youth homelessness. CBS, Centrepoint and St Basils are exemplifying the power of honouring expertise and embedding collaboration, resulting in immediate support for thousands of young people every year while building long-term solutions to end youth homelessness for good.
